| The author having
completed his education from the University of Calcutta with
economics has made extensive studies stretching over decades
on International Politics. Based on various sources, the author
has made every effort to ensure that American foreign policies
since independence are put in their proper perspective in an
unbiased and incisive manner. |

| Like
the Eagle, the United States roves round a orbit defined by
its foreign policies. It has its own set of values and principles,
interests and goals that form the bedrock of its foreign policies
guided by the Declaration of Independence. These values and
principles, serve as lodestar that help keep the United States
flying towards the furthest points in that orbit through the
completion of the still unfinished jobs of the Declaration and
the War of Independence. |

Dealing
with a subject like the US foreign policies since independence
is by itself a very exhaustive and trying job that can hardly
be captured in a single book like this. Moreover, there are
several aspects to any single foreign policy matter pursued
by a nation. The problem remains what to keep and what to leave
out. As the title of the book suggests, it is not quite like
other books on the American foreign policies. It is neither
too descriptive nor is it overtly analytical Important!
